So you want to run a UDP STREAM ??

There are prelim steps to take: UPnP Router Setup.
But we are going to assume you have done these. Your computer (client) must be on a wired connection to the router and if not, be sure you are on "G" wireless for speed and security. You have set your stream PC as a dedicated local IP (example: 192.168.1.150). You are certain that WebcamXP sees your camera and you have chosen a UDP Port (example: 8080).

Now download the CAMRADIO PORT MANAGER PROGRAM HERE: http://alvargi.50megs.com/Camradio/CamRadioPortManager.zip
Un-zip the file and continue...
<A> Press Detect – if this fails then the router does not have UPnP enabled or is not compatible. <B> Select the ports you want to forward.  They default to the standard values.
<C> Press Forward Ports.  The port forwarding rules should be set at that point.
<D> The right side of the app is for NameCheap dynamic DNS.  Members MUST SPECIFICALLY sign up for that free part of their service. When they do, NameCheap emails a generated password, which must be pasted into the appropriate field in the app.

For NON UPnP ROUTERS...
Select your device:
You do not have to own or operate a WEBCAM to have a member link here. The only requirement to become a valid member is, you must be a licensed Amateur Radio operator. You can, if you choose not to stream a camera, stream instead, live video, photo albums or your DESKTOP to the website. A separate SUPER CAST page is being developed that will allow members to stream non web-cam or non HAM RADIO content. If you would like to have your NON CAMERA UDP STREAM displayed from your computer, please contact the webmaster.
YOU CAN ALSO VISIT www.videoskin.net FOR SOME NEAT VIDEO TRICKS...

Select Your Camera:
Making your USB Web Camera selection is easy. Simply decide what you budget will be and then pick a winner. The three major brands are Microsoft, Creative Labs and Logitech. All three have a robust line from low budget to extravagant. Many of the Ham's here have average about 49.00 on the camera. There are a few additional options if you spend a few dollars more, but remember this is not about HiDef resolution. So save your money and choose to fit your budget and your appetite for bells and whistles...
On the other hand there is the IP Camera by Panasonic. The Panasonic models are great and they are budget minded. Many of the IP cameras (Google the subject) require additional software and some of them can be a bit tricky to set up. TIP: Stay away from the LinkSys models, they are reasonable in price but are hard to install with WebcamXP. In the meantime, you can see the Panasonic images from my Shop Cam. You can use these cameras for security also.
INSTALL YOU CAMERA NOW and then INSTALL THE WebCamXP SOFTWARE.

You Must See Yourself:
First you must see your video in the WebCamXP  Sources Monitor . If you can see yourself, your camera is installed properly and connected. If not, check your camera installation settings for more details. Spend a little time learning the WebCamXP software. You cannot share any other Webcam Software with WebCamXP, so be sure there is no other program using your camera.

Gathering Important Information:
You will need some additional information: If you choose the use the WebCamXP software, you Click here to download WebCamXPcan click on the icon to the right. Remember that the evaluation package will run for 15 days and then you must make the purchase decision. The basic package is more than enough to run a nice image on the Internet. The professional package is similar but it supports additional devices and some security features. Simply download it to your machine and install.
You will need your ROUTER manufacturer model number for the next step. Get that information off the router. Usually found on the bottom of the case. You need the ROUTER IP address that allows you to talk to the router, and that is generally one of these (192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1) aside from that you must have the USER NAME and PASSWORD. Obtain all this and mark it down, you will need it later.
FOLLOW THESE PORT FORWARD RULES TO THE LETTER!!!
Are you running a wireless Internet connection to the PC you will stream from ???

If so you may have problems assigning your PC a dedicated IP. While some routers will allow this configuration, many do not. Take a good look at your router instruction manual, be sure you can assign a STATIC IP to your PC for the network connection. If you cannot, we suggest you hard wire the PC to the ROUTER.

Port Forward Rules:
Port forwarding is the only way the camera will talk to the Internet. The easy way to manage this is use the Port Forward website.
Click on the Port Forward Banner here, First you select your router model from the list on the website. You will be sent to the Second stage of the procedure, selecting the software you will be using. Select WebCamXP (or whatever software you desire to use) and click on that software. Now follow through each step that is posted on that web page for your router/software.
There is an automatic program that works rather well, but it can be a little intimidating, so if you are not sure what you are doing, do not use the PFConfig auto-install program.
If you are on Verizon FIOS, you will need the information included on our Technical page...

So What Is Next:
Now email me HERE and be sure to include your GLOBAL IP. That is located at the bottom of your WebCamXP window when you are broadcasting. (EXAMPLE: http://71.182.141.9:8888) I also need to know the PORT you are broadcasting on. Remember, you start the camera broadcast by clicking on the  Broadcast Bar  located under the  Web Broadcast  tab in the software window. The  Internal HTTP Server  output is your broadcast device. Your Global IP and broadcast Port will be listed there. The PortForward website is something you should add to your favorites. It will always display your Global IP at the bottom of main page.
If your Global IP changes often, you need to use DynDns.org to track these
Ip changes. You will setup a free account that will do this for you.

One Final Tip Of The Day:
I recommend you go to www.namecheap.com and register your Call Sign as a .com or .net domain. There are many features that you can use, such as your own private email server and the cost is minimal. But. more important, your Call Sign is your identity as an Amateur Operator. For less than 10 bucks you can protect that Internet identity from reaching someone else.

Don't forget the MANYCAM...the easiest way to do real time expression. Fun and easy !! The link is located on the sidebar, to your LEFT...
